Tourism in Cambodia
Tourism is one of the main industries in Cambodia and strong efforts are being made to promote the country as a unique destination, rich in diversity with a fascinating cultural heritage.
Opportunities are now available to discover the deepest heart of the Kingdom, travelling in little known areas and understanding more about the Angkor civilization.
Angkor Wat is undoubtedly the main tourist attraction in the country. However, Siem Reap and the surrounding areas have a lot more to offer than just the Angkor Temples. Visitors with a little more time on their hands, will have the opportunity to visit the local markets, traditional performances, enjoy the serenity of village life, visit the floating villages and maybe even experience a sunrise at Tonle Sap Lake where the fishing communities already will be busy preparing today's catch.
Bird-watchers, wildlife enthusiasts and others will certainly appreciate the ecological wonders of the Tonle Sap which was declared a 'Biosphere Reserve' by UNESCO in 1997.
…and if you still haven't had enough of visiting temples, there are numerous temples and pagodas easily accessible from Siem Reap. Soria Moria is therefore a perfect starting point for a leisurely day trip or, for the more adventurous, a two- or three day expedition with an experienced expedition leader.
Full information on tours will be here shortly, meanwhile please contact us if you would like to discuss our one, two or three day tours with an experienced guide.
